According to the latest statistics from the Fastener Branch of the China Machinery General Parts Industry Association, the total export volume of fastener products such as screws, bolts (including hexagonal bolts), nuts, washers, etc. in my country will hit a new high in 2023. Against the background of global supply chain reconstruction, China's fastener industry has shown strong resilience and competitiveness.
It is worth noting that the export product structure is being optimized. The situation in which low-end and medium-end standard parts were mainly used in the past is changing. The export proportion of high-value-added products such as high-strength bolts, anti-loosening nuts, washers with special surface treatment (such as Dacromet), and customized combination screws used in new energy (photovoltaic brackets, wind power) and high-end equipment manufacturing has increased significantly. Many leading companies in major industrial bases such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Guangdong have reported that their high-end production lines have full orders, and some products have been in short supply.
Experts from the association pointed out that in the face of intensified international market competition and trade barriers in some regions (such as EU anti-dumping), Chinese fastener companies are increasing their R&D investment, improving automation levels ("machines replacing people"), optimizing material processes (such as using higher-strength alloy steels), and deepening their presence in niche markets (such as high-end fasteners for automobiles, aerospace, and rail transit). In the future, "specialization, refinement, and innovation" will be the key direction for industry upgrades.
